EPISODE #1: HOW TO FEEL JOY NO MATTER WHAT

the joy of failure episode 1 how to feel joy no matter what

As Charles Swindoll says, life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

Hello and welcome to the very first episode of the Joy in Failure podcast. I’m your host Joy Doyin Ogunneye, former banker turned beauty executive turned joyful creator, whose life’s work is to live a life full of beauty and joy no matter what! I created this ‘joy’ cast to help you navigate life’s failures more easily. My intention is to make failing less taboo and more fun.

In today’s episode, I share my soul story and why I felt so inspired to create this podcast, and share the message of love, beauty and joy with the world. With all of life’s ups and downs, failures and curveballs, I go really deep into why we have all forgotten our true essence and reason for being. I believe at the core, we are all the same, we are all looking to feel love, beauty and joy. Love, beauty and joy are the actual feelings behind our constant quest for success.

In this episode, I delve into the several life lessons I’ve learned along the way (mostly the hard ones) such as how to let go control and float, how to find the beauty in the chaos, how to find the message in the mess, and how to always feel joy in the failure and not-so-pleasing circumstances. As a society, we are really not taught how to navigate our failures. As a result, we find it so hard to even say the word “Failure”, let alone embrace the idea of failing. In general, we’ve been conditioned to view the act of failing as such a bad thing, a taboo; rather than simply seeing it as a pathway to joy. I believe this is one of the many reasons why we are so scared of failing and are so risk averse.

I also share a personal story aka ‘mini epiphany’ on how I’ve learned and continue to learn how to always find the joy in my failures.  I talk about how I decided to make it one of my life missions to teach others, shift mindsets and explore ways in finding joy in our failures no matter what. Joy is our birthright, and if failing is part of life, we might as well have fun with it.
