Faith and fear both demand you believe in something you cannot see. You choose! – Bob Proctor
Today I explore the topic of how to choose faith over fear. To experience the joy in failure, I believe faith is one of the most useful tools we have at our disposable to help us overcome our fears and preserve despite the odds. I love the definition of faith in Hebrews 11:1, which states "faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see". I also love the common definition of fear which states "fear is the false evidence appearing real".
In this episode, I share why I believe fear and faith are part of the same coin, and why faith and fear each have a purpose in our lives. If fear is simply part of our lives, I believe we need to spend less time trying to become fearless and more time learning to dance with fear.
In this episode, I show you 3 simple steps on how to choose faith over fear, so you can feel joy no matter what:
1: Appreciate what was (i.e. what worked in the past)
2: Appreciate what is (i.e. what is working now)
3: Appreciate what is to come (i.e. what is coming in the future)
Whenever I find myself feeling fear and losing faith, I remember these 3 simple steps, and remind myself of the mantra: “Not because I don’t see the moon during the day, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.”
Ultimately, you get to choose what you get to believe in. So what do you want to choose? Do you choose fear or do you want to choose faith?
This episode is perfect for anyone feeling fearful, and looking for simply ways on how to silence the fear and amplify the faith.
